About Us
OVERVIEW
Dear Greenburgh Early Childhood Program Families and Community Members,
It is with great honor and genuine excitement that I introduce myself as the new Assistant Principal of Greenburgh’s Early Childhood Program (ECP). Joining a community so deeply committed to nurturing young children and laying a strong foundation for lifelong learning is both a privilege and a responsibility that I embrace wholeheartedly.
As I prepare for the 2026–2027 school year, I have already had the opportunity to learn from Mr. Washington, whose thoughtful leadership has helped shape the warm and supportive culture that defines ECP. I am also grateful for the welcoming partnership of Ms. Stanback, Ms. Diones, and Ms. Ayala, whose dedication to children, families, and staff has provided invaluable insight into the strengths of this program and the traditions that matter most to our community. These early conversations have reinforced my belief that ECP is a place where relationships, collaboration, and joyful learning are at the heart of everything we do.
The 2026–2027 school year will mark my 17th year in education. I began my career as a Pre-K, Kindergarten, and First Grade teacher, experiences that continue to shape my understanding of how young children learn best—through play, exploration, language-rich interactions, and caring relationships with adults. I later served as a Literacy Coach in both the New York City Public Schools and the Briarcliff Manor School District, supporting teachers in strengthening literacy instruction and creating engaging learning environments. Most recently, I served as Assistant Principal in the City School District of New Rochelle.
I am committed to working closely with our talented staff and with you, our families, to ensure that every child feels safe, known, valued, and inspired to learn each day. Throughout the year, I will share regular updates about ECP programs, events, and celebrations, and I welcome ongoing communication. My door is always open, and I encourage you to reach out by email, phone, or in person.
Thank you for the warm welcome into the Greenburgh Early Childhood Program family. I look forward to listening, learning, and partnering with you as we build upon the strong foundation already in place and create a year filled with learning, growth, joyful discovery, and memorable moments for our youngest Falcons.
With gratitude and excitement,
Jessica Bandel
